Used to be that when it came to 103.9 Proud FM, I was like Annie Wilkes, the station’s #1 fan.  I listened all day, and was often on The Shaun Proulx Show (hey, wonder if he will have me on his TV version still?)  But ever since “gay radio” fired it’s gay stars including Shaun, Mark Wigmore, Patrick Marano and Deb Pearce without cause, my dial is tuned elsewhere and I’m with the growing number of outraged protesters over on the Facebook page, Proud FM – The Shame of Toronto.

Call me crazy, but I expect better treatment of our gay allies from a supposed gay radio station.  Now where’s my axe?

For weeks now on PROUD FM we have been having the people in from TICOT  (The Imperial Court of Toronto) talking about the election and coronation of their newest Empress.  For those who don’t know (as I didn’t), there are courts in many many cities in Canada and the U.S..  The members of the court basically raise money for charities.  Two candidates stood before us.  One, well spoken, in full face makeup and jewels, bearing gift bags and home baked cookies.  The other, not nearly as much effort, not even appearing in drag. This went on for weeks, with one candidate clearly the front runner (in my mind anyway).  Finally the elections took place and we anxiously awaited the announcing of the new empress at the coronation.  I didn’t get to go, but Mark, a well known face in the Village, did (see pic below).  The result?  An upset!  Follow the progress of TICOT as we continue to interview them on BREAKFAST IN BED with PATRICK & DEB on 103.9 PROUD FM, M-F 6-10a

There’s no keeping a good man down, including me at the great Montreal queer arts and culture festival Divers/Cite, where you can run into the most INTERESTING people!

For years I lived in L.A., rubbing shoulders (and other body parts) with those who create the porn we all love to lust for.  I came to the forefront of people’s consciousness as Eddie Stone, porn star.  But before Eddie ever existed, I was Patrick, a kid from Canada.

Now, as I move into another chapter of my life, Eddie has taken his ‘talents’ behind the camera filming scenes for my upcoming website (www.eddiestoneonline.com) and Patrick is coming into his own.

One of the many interviews I did as Eddie Stone was with Shaun Proulx for the radio station 103.9 PROUD FM.  Who would have thought that, fast forward one year and a half, I would move home (to Toronto) and knock on PROUD FM’s door.

Not only did I get my foot in the door, but you can now listen to me (Patrick) as the Midday Host on the station, either on your dial 103.9 (in Toronto) or online at www.proudfm.com
