Hey folks, it’s my birthday. My chicken feathers have offically atrophied as I turn 45 today.

As for my last post, shit happens. And in program we have a saying, “You tell on yourself” and that is exactly what I did. In the grand picture it is a blip on the radar.

I left the post as it is, typos and all because this is Acid Reflux, and what you get is my uncensored and raw blog reality show.

What I hate is how easily the insanity can return if you let it. I squashed it, and nipped it in the bud right away.

By no means am I trying to make a dramatic moment with, “oh poor me look what happenned, now everyone fawn over me and say comforting things as an attention seeking plow.

From the very beginning I put my shit out there. Over the years I’ve heard how my sharing has helped others, and in fact that was re-iterated the other day.

The “She’s Still Here Tour 2010″ continues to solder on, and every birthday is a day of gratitude for all the blessings, abundance, and family in my life.

I’m so close to meeting Kathy Griffin with this contest, details and link in today’s post at the bottom for the video, and my poetic writing, ah plea.

See the last post for the video, and please watch it. I managed to get 374 people to watch it in a week. My one and only competitor in this contest has 100, and her video isn’t that great.

Plus, when I went to the forum on the Kathy Griffin site to add something to my contest post where the link to my video is found, I saw a note to me from the Team Griffin Webmaster.

Now for those who don’t know I made a video to win a DVD. When I went to submit it, I saw I missed the bloody deadline. Disappointed, I shared it with friends etc, and it still has gotten about 450 viewings.

In the video I say that I was not successful meeting Kathy Griffin through my FaceBook page (which I never thought it would work, it was just fun to do), but I’d have to set my sites lower, and get a DVD that had been touched by Team Griffin.

I was going to post it in the Kathy Griffin Forum anyway, but I just wanted Kathy to see it, and if it was in the forum there may have been chance.

That’s when I saw the note from the Team Griffin Webmaster that was to me. Ok, I’m getting closer to Kathy, as Team Griffin had communicated with me! He asked me to post a link to the original along with my up-dated reworked video of the first one. He said it was “fantastic” and he wanted people to see it. There were also a couple other nice things.

For my competitor, he wrote about 8 words thanking here. Now I don’t want to get all cocky, as now that I feel I have a really good chance of winning this, watch out I wont.

Additionally, I decided to give them my humour story about Kathy that also requires me putting out my status, as I did my schtick of “My life on the AIDS D-List” and the “Make a wish incident” in Australia that lead to my wish of wanting to meet Kathy.

It’s all there in case you want to read it. Please do as if you haven’t seen the video I want as many hits on it as possible.

Now ever since the Great Barrier Reef when I met the mother of a teen who survived testicular cancer and told me they were there with the “Make a wish foundation.” and was in remission, I’ve been asking, “So when do I get to make my wish come true.”

This guy lost his left nut and got a trip to Australia, and I’ve survived HIV for 25 years, when not many have, and what do I get for that?

Is it not too much to want to meet Kathy Griffin.  When it comes to HIV, senority must mean something? Doesn’t it?

Now the video.

Truth be told, I missed the deadline for the first video, and that was just for a DVD. Even then I was disappointed. But life is too short for regrets as the stars came together for a better contest, a meet and greet, plus tickets to PrideFest in Milwaukee this June.

This is much better than a crappy DVD that I can buy online for 15 bucks, and that’s Canadian.

I decided to go green, and recycle, reuse, and reduce. I redid the same video, slightly modified, edited and voilà, it was like it was meant to be.

Given the bit of work that went into it, and those who have to suffer through me posting it everyone, I think this is a much better prize, and more in line with my dream to meet Ms. Griffin.

Now, here’s the thing. I’m pretty sure there is only one other video, as of yet – and the deadline is this Saturday, April 10^th,  so who knows what could happen.

The competition: a frumpy college girl who’s singing a song about Kathy’s mother who likes her wine boxed, “I was raised by a box” say Kathy in her act.  The song is called Tip It, and it’s cute, and she’s obviously put some work into it.

That’s why I’m driven to have more viewings on my video entry than her, and so far I’m beating her two to one, and I want to keep it that way.

So please watch my video. At least click on it, let it play go watch the dishes or to another site, I don’t give a crap. Just click on the damn thing and help a guy out.

Last night I went to Mississauga.

Don’t worry, it wasn’t like I sneaked out or nothing. I was given a Gay Pass because I was going to see Joan Rivers with Shaun Proulx, Patrick Morano Brian Finch and a limo full of their friends. Hey, there’s strength in numbers and Joan Rivers or not, this was still Mississauga people! Well, she was rude, crude, insulting and said cunt twice in the first 10 minutes. I know, I think we got off easy too! She told us she hates dykes, Asians, ugly people (and no they’re not all the same! Necessarily). She said hateful things about the old, handicapped people, the poor, AIDS patients on disability and why celebrities support charities. And when it was all said and done she threw a pot of chrysanthemums at my head! It was the best night ever! I’ve never laughed so hard in my life! I laughed so hard, I peed…which she also hated! If you’ve never seen Joan Rivers live, hurry up and do it before she changes her face again! Wait … is she here?

Oh the French always know how to do it.

I have to admit, being an avid fan of the sport,  these images make me want to rush out and buy a carton of smokes.

Since I’m pimping my videos, which I call experimental video instead of experimental theatre, I thought I’d through this recent one out. It’s my submission to win a free DVD from Kathy Griffin. Of course I can just by the damn thing, but this is such more fun. Of course it is probably NSFW

Valentine’s Day is right up there with the December holidays! The only thing I like about it is February 15, because the chocolate is on sale. Despite the sales, February 15, bugs me as well with our provincial holiday called, “Family Day,” which sounds far too Christian too me.

Why hate such a holiday? Well, anytime I was in a relationship I rebelled at anything that felt contrived and forced upon me without my consent. Suddenly, because Hallmark says so, I’m supposed to be so in love that I want to go buy a gift, do a dinner or something.

Usually the day ended up in a fight, without the make up sex. Perhaps this is why I’ve learned this Pavlovian response to the day.  One time I was traveling across the country, arrived back home quite late, and didn’t have a card or anything and all hell broke lose. Sure, I know, I was a bad boyfriend.

To me it’s like doing drag. All these guys who put down the drag queens can’t wait to put on a dress come October 31^st, as if they somehow now have permission to do it. I’ve never felt the need to have permission to get into a costume, especially having been a make up artists. I can do this anytime of the year.

When I saw the Facebook page “Canadians Against Proroguing Parliament” had climbed past 200,000 members. I knew it was time for my little Hildy, my 2.5 half pound Chihuahua, to take a stand. Here average, cross demographics of Canadians were mobilizing grassroots in a way that I have not see in a very long time.

Gone were the days when Canadian’s couldn’t give a shit about politics, and our democratic institutions. Years ago I remember feeling frustrated listening to a friend who said, “I don’t vote, they’re all the same anyway.”

That’s exactly what got Harper in.

I know that, Hildy knows that.

I thought I would do some celebrating this post as we all need to do a little bit of that. Also some acknowledgment goes a log way. First I am very happy to acknowledge the success of GayGuideToronto.com blogger David Ivey. David, if you have not heard already won MLT. 2010 and is the youngest Mister Leatherman Toronto ever. I have a lot of respect for him going for what he wants and I expect that he and his team will produce excellent events this year.

On another note I would love to celebrate the success and hard work of my new business partner and fellow GayGuideToronto.com blogger Brian Finch. Brian has a dream and I have to acknowledge it.
