HOLIDAY, CELEBRATION :: I have always loved attention. Yes, this comes as a surprise to most. So, I obviously love my birthday! I celebrate it with a Birthday Eve (the night before), Birthday Day, and Birthday Boxing Day.
I wish I were kidding. Birthdays are the one day a year where people acknowledge your presence on earth, and therefore, you should be recognized justly. My parents have always made a big deal about birthdays: cakes, whatever food I want, family, presents, and the re-assurance of how much I mean to them and how much they love me. Did I mention presents?
I know most people can’t stand birthdays because of the whole age thing. But, really, growing older means growing wiser and, hopefully, happier. And you get presents, people! Even if not a physical gift, a sense of enlightenment or hope or inspiration always comes with growing older. I know what you’re thinking: you’re only turning 23 and you look 14. Thank you. I know.
Funny fact: I always see my birthday numbers everywhere: 119. It’s my lucky number. Every time I look at a clock, the time is 1:19. A lot of people’s addresses are either 19 or 119. Even the suite number I live in adds up to 119. I had an audition a few weeks back, and my call number was 19. It just follows me everywhere! I wonder what that means. Maybe I’ll get 119 gifts this year?
I’m just kidding! All I want for my birthday this year is love. I know its cliché, and I know most people don’t mean when they say that, but I do. Love brings more love, and you can never have enough. I’ve had a bit of a rough year so far, personally, so all I want is to know that I am loved.
I’m also a size Medium. Thanks!
